Workshop Objectives
At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Identify and list anatomy.
- Identify and describe normal anatomy within the ultrasound images .
- Assemble protocol static and real time images for diagnostic interpretation.
- Practice the art of scanning techniques used to differentiate between true anatomy echo and artifact.
- Identify common pathology imaged .
- Write annotations within the ultrasound images.
- Outline protocol anatomy.
Workshop Overview
- Organized instruction with hands-on scanning in a small group setting.
- Participants develop knowledge and skill for use in their daily MSKUS practice.
- Participants will scan each joint with guided instructions.
- Demonstration of basic technique for guided needle injections and aspirations.
- Participants receive an excellent grounding in the attributes and techniques of MSKUS.

5 SDMS CME per day
- Live hands-on scanning with direct instructional hands-on scanning techniques for scanning all major joints
- Participants will hold the transducer while given direct instructional hands- on scanning techniques for imaging tendons, muscle and joints
- Systematic and complete focused hands-on scanning
- Teaching instruction on techniques that are used to obtain the best ultrasound image
- Static and real-time imaging will demonstrate anisotropy artifact (oblique beam artifact)
- Demonstration for skill and knowledge scanning specific areas within each joint
Noon - 1:00 pm
- Lunch will be provided
- Hands-On Guidance for Needle
Aspirations / Injections Explaining and demonstrating the techniques used to visualize the needle tip with ultrasound and guiding it to a focal point within the soft tissue of a prop.
